SR.IT System Engineer

Description

• Research, design, implement and support complex IT Servers and Systems.
• Technical expert in IT systems specializing in one or more specific technology area ( Infrastructure Application , Network, Server Operating Systems, Desktop Operating Systems, Virtualization, Directory Services, E-mail, Disaster Recovery, Security, Antivirus, Storage Management, Print Management, Hardware Management, Mobile Device Management, Application Deployment, PKI, ) in a wide variety of technologies (i.e., software and/or hardware).
• Maintain high degree of awareness about emerging technologies and advise IT management.
• Provide expert advice and engineer repeatable processes relating to deployment, support and maintenance of all areas of expertise.
• This could include some project management of internal projects.

Education

Minimum Education Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.

Preferred Education

Bachelors Degree BA/BS degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.

Knowledge/Skills

Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements

Advanced .In-depth knowledge of enterprise environments and ability to engineer solutions to include but not limited to: Server Operating Systems, Desktop Operating Systems, Virtualization, Directory Services, E-mail, Disaster Recovery, Security, Antivirus, Storage Management, Print Management, Hardware Management, Mobile Device Management, Application Deployment, PKI, and DNS. Ability to understand complex systems and IT protocols. Ability to integrate the most complex hardware and software systems. Ability to constantly adapt, learn and support new technologies. Assume full ownership/responsibility of assigned responsibilities and delivers services guidelines with little or no supervision. Strong technical and analytical skills required in solving complex systems infrastructure issues.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

• IBM Message Broker or IBM Integration Bus Experience, looking for excellent skill set in creating message flows, routing logic, extensive knowledge in using Java compute node as well as mapping logic.
• IBM Datapower experience in building Multiprotocol Gateways, building XSLT mapping, web services, soap calls, converting soap to restful services. Good understanding on security protocols using AAA policy. Able to upgrade or apply fixes to Data power.
• Having knowledge in kornshell scripting is a plus.
• Candidate should have an experience in WTX (Mercator or Transformation Extender) domain with EDI exposure.

Experience

Minimum Experience Requirements

10 or more years Progressive IT experience. Minimum of 7 years experience researching, designing, implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure systems. Minimum of 3 years experience engineering for large complex enterprise environment with responsibility for at least one major system.
