Description:
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will provide full range generalist support to the college. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources Operations this role will act as a business partner to provide operational support and influence organizational change on campus. Specifically the Sr. Generalist will be the HR point of contact for Faculty as well as interface with staff and students, and campus leadership at all levels pertaining to onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, policy/legislative compliance and employee training and development. This position will also be responsible for data accuracy to ensure the integrity of the data which is utilized by the system to develop multiple system-wide data and reporting for faculty events. They will play a key role in supporting the successful growth and development of the expanding HR service platform including initiatives that help set the foundation for a supportive positive culture. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide consultation, recommendations, and policy based guidance to campus leadership and employees.

Partner with other HR team members to support and develop efficient, standardized departmental processes and procedures; Recommend new approaches/procedures to effect continual improvement of services performed

Collaborate with the Director of HR Operations and team on development and implementation of scalable HR initiatives and solutions in support of GGC’s strategic priorities.

Stay abreast of matters affecting employees and develop and recommend programs to foster a culture of positive employee morale.

Counsel’s employees, director’s and managers concerning sensitive and difficult to resolve work-related problems and recommends to Director of HR Operations systemic resolutions.

Conduct sensitive employee related investigations as directed.

Serve as the HR point of contact for Faculty members with general employment questions or concerns.

Maintains MFE platform ensuring accuracy and data integrity ensuring credentialing is updated based on SACS compliance

Assists with full-time and part-time Faculty hiring and onboarding including offers of employment, contract administration and summer appointments.

Serve as dual employment administrator for the institution overseeing the internal approval process and policy adherence for faculty and staff in a shared employment arrangement between GGC and other USG institutions.

Provide timely and accurate metrics and data that assist HR and campus leadership with appropriate decision making

Monitor policy adherence to ensure appropriate, accurate, and consistent application including proper documentation, and legislative compliance.

Conduct exit interviews including trend analysis; Provide recommendations to support an environment of continuous improvement

Participate in campus personnel related committees, working groups or focus groups, providing input and recommendations for the administration of personnel on the campus.

Attend appropriate off-campus meetings of HR professionals for employee training purposes.

Supports efforts to establish HR as a trusted partner and advisor with campus leadership.

Encourage open communications and promote a positive work environment embracing the College’s vision, mission and operating principles; Serve as champion with initiatives designed to develop and sustain GGC’s culture

Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Job Requirements and Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business or related discipline required

Five (5) – seven (7) years of measurable success in a full scope HR generalist role required

2+ years of higher education experience required

Prior experience in a growth environment strongly preferred

Ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment is a critical key to success

Proven ability to establish ownership and drive assigned initiatives through to completion on time; meeting or exceeding expectations

Knowledge of Faculty Administrative Processes

Project management and business acumen skills

Proven knowledge of federal/state employment laws, including EEO, ADA and FMLA.

Must maintain extreme confidentiality of employee and company records

Great communication and interpersonal skills; including demonstrated ability to build consensus and establish trust; outgoing personality

Superior customer service skills

Solid organizational and prioritization skills including proven attention to detail

Self-motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn

Strong analytical skills

Ability to listen to customers (i.e., staff, faculty and leadership), understand needs and respond positively to their requests

Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Suite and HRIS applications
