Sr. Fraud Investigator – Bankcard Detection

Responsible for functions related to the identification, prevention, and resolution of fraudulent activity including review of new accounts, unusual customer transactions, check and deposit fraud, card fraud, signature verification, loan applications and online fraud. Identify, research and analyze possible fraudulent activity on customer accounts and process customer fraud claims.
Responsible for complex duties and decisions relating to fraudulent applications, transactions, and customer fraud claims. Requires decision-making and resolution of issues not clearly defined by policies and procedures. May train less experienced staff within department and serve as subject matter expert for projects. Frequent interaction with teammates, management, suspects, victims, and other financial institutions. Identifies control failures and recommends solutions.


Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
Must be available to work during these times: Training is Monday through Friday 9 am – 6 pm, for about one month. After that, the shift will either be: Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday through Thursday 11 am – 8 pm. Management assigns shifts based upon business needs once training is complete.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of fraud detection/investigation or related experience.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong skills in research and problem resolution.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior fraud detection and/ or investigation experience in the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of banking applications, understanding of consumer bank statements and general ledger accounting.
  • Broad understanding of consumer banking practices, policies, and regulations.
