Elavon is seeking a motivated Senior Database Engineer to be a part of Elavon’s E-Commerce payment processing team with extensive experience in data modeling, design and development using Oracle PL/SQL. In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Applying rigorous data management principles to model data assets
  • Build and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Build and maintain the DB Deployment Process
  • Aid in the design and implementation of database procedures using SQL and PL/SQL
  • Performance tuning – SQL query monitoring, analysis and optimization

Qualifications

REQUIRED
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle ( versions 10g/11g/12c )
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in using Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
  • 3+ years of experience in database design and data modeling
  • Proficient in debugging PL/SQL packages to troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience with UNIX, Shell scripting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related area
PREFERRED
  • Knowledge of relational and star schema/dimensional models
  • Knowledge of the payment industry
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework, Agile and/or Scrum
  • Exposure to JIRA / VersionOne is desired
  • Good communication, comprehension and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be strong self-starter and able to work independently
