BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY –

The Corporate Finance Senior Analyst has responsibility for creating and documenting multifaceted orporate finance and financial analysis projects (capital markets activity, corporate modeling etc) and leads analysis, economic research and modeling to ensure accurate data is provided for executive management reports. This position requires broad-based skill sets and knowledge of finance and accounting, combined with the ability to accurately analyze opportunities, propose thoughtful solutions, and implement executive management decisions, all in a fast-paced environment. This is a key member of the Corporate Finance team and is expected to perform at a very high level with a strong work ethic and ability to communicate complex concepts in an effective manner to other functional teams as well as senior leaders at Devon.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or other related Business field.
  • Master’s degree in Business/Finance, and/or Professional Finance (CFA) or Accounting certification (CPA) strongly preferred


EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5-8 years relevant work experience in Corporate Finance required; oil & gas experience preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years financial modeling experience required; A minimum of 2 years financial statement analysis experience preferred
  • Midstream Master Limited Partnership experience preferred


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and analyze industry, sector and company-specific financial results for peer benchmarking; analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions
  • Update Devon’s corporate model periodically and as needed
  • Communicate and coordinate with other internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Investor Relations, Strategic Planning) to provide consistent data to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support management of multi-billion dollar investment in Enlink Midstream, including evaluation of business development opportunities, monitoring financial results and providing insight to Devon Executive Management.
  • Position will involve occasional interactions with investment banking advisors and analysis of interest rate derivatives, capital markets alternatives and other financing strategies.
  • Support communications with rating agencies regarding financial projections and leverage metrics.
  • Support public capital markets transactions (analysis, legal document review etc.)
  • Screen possible E&P acquisition transactions by preparing and evaluating pro forma financial information; Support merger, acquisition and divestiture process, including related capital market activity
  • Develop written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations and entire industries
  • Help develop and mentor less senior employees
  • Assemble spreadsheets, charts and graphs
