Sr Business Intelligence Developer

Your responsibilities:

• Design and deliver project work on-time, and take responsibility for the end-to-end quality and uptime of our data pipeline
• Work with Developers, Program Managers, and Operations to craft, test and deploy extraordinary software
• Establish metrics and processes to ensure development for scale
• Explore and recommend emerging technical solutions for our evolving data needs
• Mentor the rest of the organization to provide best practices for data ingestion
• Serve as a mentor to junior members of the core platform development team
• Communicate effectively up and down the organization including to the CTO and engineering leadership team

What you bring to this job:

• 8+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years of experience in data-related and NoSQL technologies
• Deep experience in agile/scrum software delivery practices
• Experience with AWS technologies including S3, EMR, Redshift, Lambda, and EC2
• Experience with server-side programming language such as Java or Python
• Excellent debugging skills to support high load cloud-based production systems
• Experience in processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data utilizing Hadoop, Map Reduce programming, Hive, PIG, Spark, or Storm on the AWS platform
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle, and MPP databases like Teradata or Redshift
• Strong working relationships with non-technical peers and a demonstrated ability to understand the workings of the overall business
• Knowledge in one or more reporting tools such as Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, or Qlikview
• History of technical depth and recognition within previous teams as a domain authority
• Advocate for product-wide coding quality and a desire to find tractable new ways to improve the group’s coding standards
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent demonstrable hands-on experience
