SQL Developer/BI Reporting

Covestic is looking for a database developer to be part of a development team to design, develop, and maintain a data management system. The focus will be to streamline report delivery and to transition the reporting process to a more dynamic BI environment. The current environment is SQL Server 2008 including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Responsibilities:

Develop robust and scalable processes for data modeling, management, and production

Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures

Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and IT team members to understand business requirements and to build solutions that meet business needs, objectives, and project goals

Support business operations and ensure solutions developed are aligned to the enterprise data architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial goals

Required Skills:

3-6 years of database development work experience

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database and service (i.e., SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) skills

Experience with T-SQL, ETL, and stored procedures

Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or Cognos BI reporting tool (must have at least 1 of these)

High level of proficiency with database and data warehouse lifecycle, including data modeling (logical and physical), analysis and relational database design

Experience managing multiple concurrent database and software development projects using a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), such as Agile Scrum

Experience gathering and translating end user requirements into implementable software solutions

Application design, development, and implementation of medium to large software projects

Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and industry standard code sets

This is a W2 contract opportunity, no C2C. Local candidates preferred.
