SQL Database Administrator

Working with applications teams to devise highly-available, good performing, secure and scalable database solutions.

Owning, tracking, managing, prioritizing and resolving database related incidents, changes and support requests within SLAs and in compliance with business policies and market regulations.

Committing to work on project-related tasks to support business growth and service continuous improvement.

Reviewing database service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance and data processing jobs, monitoring availability and proactive alerts) daily to ensure potential service issues are proactively identified and resolved within established SLAs.

Performing object-level analysis and performance tuning on SQL.

Maintaining database service and security best practices and ensure full compliance with policies and procedures, including adherence to Data Protection and PCI.

Suggesting areas for improvement in internal IT processes as they relate to database administration.

Configuring and providing additional SQL Server services as Reporting Service, Analysis Service and Integration Service.

At least 3 years’ experience of SQL Server Database Administration supporting live production environments.

Subject matter expert on operational and technical aspects of database administration and evaluating new technologies.

Change and Incident Management focus

Ability to work with ticketing systems

Flexibility regarding hours of coverage may be required, given the dynamic growth rate of the company. Availability to work out of business hours.

Must be a good verbal communicator by messaging, face to face and over the telephone.

Able to interact professionally with a diverse group, IT staff, managers and subject matter experts.

Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-growing Company with moving deadlines and a pressure environment.

Must have analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to perform Root Cause analysis in complex environments.

Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and a team player.

Able to generate documentation and keep existing documentation updated.
