SQL Analyst and Web App Developer (Entry Level)

Summary of Position:

The data analysis and application development position is within our Information Technology team.  This position works directly with marketing, client relationship, and executive team as well as external business partners to provide standard reporting and analytical data required to grow our business.  This position performs data analysis to link structured and unstructured data in support of strategic business efforts as defined by the manager and executive team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform complex data analysis in support strategic business needs; transform raw data into finished products  
• Perform data centric web application development to support strategic business needs
• Create files/procedures as required for analysis and data presentations  
• Develop new methodologies for data management as needed  
• Delivers data reports in specific formats, meeting specific data and time requirements  
• Adhere to departmental reporting and QA standards 
• Interact with applicable departments/groups to ensure adequate understanding of processes, data needs, and data availability 
• Troubleshoot and resolve client/user problems 
• Translate verbal requests into deliverables as necessary to support business objectives 
• Acquire and master new technical skills as new programs and technology becomes available 
• Perform other statistical and analytical tasks as required  
• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation
• Assist in other areas of department or other departments as required

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Business Systems,or other similar quantitative field or 2 years of relevant experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to interpret requests and give quality results in a timely manner 
• Strong knowledge of business analysis and data management 
• Demonstrate proficiency in writing Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL queries and procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency in web application development
• Ability to integrate web APIs and SOAP/REST web services
• Must possess a highly logical and analytical mindset 
• Willingness to learn new technologies and software platforms
• Able to work well in a diverse/multi-cultural collaborative team environment 
• Present a professional and helpful appearance
• Willing to occasionally work irregular hours

Additional Optional Skills:

• Demonstrate proficiency in database tuning and optimization
• Demonstrate proficiency in ETL tools, e.g. SSIS, Talend, Python 
• Spatial data management and analysis using ESRI ArcGIS, SQL Spatial, and QGIS
• Web development skills including NET or PHP, HTML5, CSS3
• Mobile applications development experience (iOS and Android)
• Microsoft Visual Studio C#
• Outsystems platform
