Sports Nutritionist

The Sports Nutritionist provides individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of competitive and recreational athletes, on-site and during travel.

• Conducts medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counselling with students, staff, and faculty.
• Evaluates lab and diagnostic setting as it relates to nutrition status.
• Develops nutritional educational materials for use on the website, social media, Student Health 101 magazine, and other publications.
• Conducts workshops and special programs such as nutrition presentations and cooking demonstrations.
• Works with the nutrition services team to plan, implement, and evaluate programs and events for nutrition sciences including Eating Disorder Week, Wellness Expo, etc.
• Assists with the development of materials such as special diet guidelines, procedures, and protocol related to menu choices or preparation techniques.
• Assists with training and orientation of other staff members as it pertains to the nutrition program.
• Participates in professional development and continuing education programs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition.
• State Dietetics and Nutrition License
• Must obtain Florida Dietetics and Nutrition License within six (6) months of hire.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
• Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
• Excellent communication (oral & written) skills.

• NATA BOC Certification preferred.
• Eligibility for Registered Dietitian licensure by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association preferred.
• Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred.
