Specialist, Credit

This position ensures that confirmed patient and simple insurance credits are refunded in a timely manner and are compliant with applicable regulations and payer requirements. Effective performance of these functions helps the organization maintain accurate accounts receivable and maximize patient satisfaction. Candidates with good math aptitude, prior bookkeeping/accounting experience, and spreadsheet skills are most likely to be successful.

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required with strong math aptitude.
  • Experience in a health care revenue cycle environment preferred, but applicants with basic bookkeeping/accounting, banking/finance, or similar experience also considered.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Ability to acquire and retain complex knowledge of department/company processes, government policy/regulation, and payer requirements.
  • Requires strong attention to detail and demonstrated problem resolution skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and via written documents.
