Software Engineer – Web/API (PHP)

iSpot.tv is seeking Junior and Mid-level Software Engineers to join our growing Engineering team. We have a product that is changing how brands, agencies and networks measure and assess the impact of TV advertising campaigns. Our software uses proprietary audio and video analysis to monitor and extract TV commercials, movie trailers and other promotional content from TV. At the same time, our software analyzes consumer interactions with TV ads on the digital screen across search, video and social.

This is a rare opportunity to get equity in the early stages of a company with significant early traction and which is run by an experienced team.

We are looking for someone that is highly motivated and knows how to get things done quickly and efficiently. We are not looking for a coding robot – we are looking for someone that’s highly creative and has an insatiable appetite for learning new things and accomplishing challenging goals in a fast moving (and not always structured) environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Work on developing and deploying new features and capabilities in our core products, including:
  • Public website ( www.ispot.tv )
  • Analytics dashboard
  • APIs (internal and external)
  • Internal admin tools
  • Contribute to the scaling and ongoing performance of the platform
  • Develop internal monitoring tools and processes to improve platform
  • Investigate and fix bugs and customer/user escalated issues

Besides being highly motivated and valuing the significant equity opportunity, we are looking for someone that has production experience with the following:

• 1+ years of industry experience in PHP
• Framework experience (Zend Framework2, Symfony2, Laravel, etc)
• Experience with object oriented development
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases

Bonus if you’re also familiar with:

• AWS Services (EC2, CloudFront, SES)
• Non relational data stores, such as key/value (Memcache/Redis), NoSQL
• Other languages, such as Java, Python, etc.
• MySQL, writing queries
• Front-end technologies (JQuery, Javascript, CSS, HTML)
