Software Engineer I – Frontend

Position Overview

Congratulations! You’re already among that determined group of people who have found their calling, attained an education in their field (or equivalent experience), and are well on your way to an energizing career. In your case, that’s not only modern front-end web development, but more importantly helping others discover their own dream jobs and what they need to get there. It’s why you’re so intrigued by this opportunity to combine both of those passions by joining the engineering team behind Emsi’s market-leading tool, Career Coach. If that weren’t enough, being able to do what you love in a rural, family-friendly college town already has you Googling the outdoor activities, cultural events, and fine dining establishments that Moscow and the Palouse region have to offer. Once you do, we think you’ll agree: it’s a pretty sweet gig. So, what are you waiting for? Check out who we’re looking for below, and if we sound like a match made in Idaho, then click that green Apply button to take the next step in what we call Learning Together. We can’t wait to learn more about you.

You’ll succeed because…

  • You know yourself and your craft. You know what makes you tick: which strengths you have to offer, and which ones you don’t. You’re humble yet assertive about the first set, while candid and collaborative around the latter.
  • You work well on teams. You know from experience that a high-functioning team is greater than the sum of its parts. You realize that your new team reaches beyond your fellow engineers to include internal partners in customer service, sales, and product management.
  • You want to collaborate with stakeholders. Your team also includes external partners at institutions of higher education, workforce development, and private businesses. You understand the overlapping challenges of career counselors, educators, and employers in connecting students and talent to the right education and the right jobs.
  • You care a lot about end users. You vividly remember what it was like to be a student discovering a career path (in web development) and navigating the education that got you there. In fact, you might pick up on how a tool like Career Coach could have facilitated that journey, while scoring bonus points with your ideas for how we can make the tool even better.
