Software Engineer, Devops

The Autopilot team is building the future of self-driving cars! You can take part in this effort by helping us developing better continuous integration infrastructure and automation. You will be building tools that enhance the efficiency of the cloud infrastructure by efficient feature automation and improving the overall quality of the project.

You will join a small, expert team managing autopilot cloud infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building world-class infrastructure and a track record of success creating highly available, scalable, automated, distributed systems. You will need strong systems experience, excellent interpersonal communication, and experience accepting and giving meaningful feedback on technical designs and pull requests.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure, both cloud, and in-house.
• Build tools that streamline development and deployment.
• Develop monitoring and alerting, both technically and culturally.
• Build and maintain highly-available distributed applications.
• Work with diverse stacks, including both state-full and stateless services.

Requirements

• Kick-ass sys admin.
• Cloud experience (AWS, EC2).
• Strong predilection for automation (Terraform).
• Strong scripting and experience building diverse, robust tooling in at least one common language (Python, Perl, Shell).
• Linux distribution environment and internals

Preferred

• Smart but humble, with a bias for action.
• Experience with Docker and container based build infrastructures
• Experience with C/C++, Go and Python programming languages
• Experience with web application development (Javascript, HTML).
• Familiarity with database concepts
• Familiarity with Agile build and development process
• Ability to integrate, synthesize and prioritize user demands and resolve ambiguity
• Ability to quickly shift to a variety of development environments and manage multiple on-going
• Excitement for learning new domains and new skills!
