Software Engineer – (C++, Linux, Python- Proficiency)

Member of the Military Support Programs (MSP) Flight Test and Simulations (FT&S) team that operates, develops and maintains software tools and Engineering Development Unit (EDU) hardware for a variety of simulation platforms for multiple users as an integral component of the larger, complex system. This job is a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation. We are working to upgrade all of the systems to new architecture and automate processes and procedures using Agile methods and software tools. As these changes are being accomplished, we are integrating new projects for hardware Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design, Real time software updates, System engineering, integration and test projects. Perform automated procedure design, development, test, and maintenance. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle. Applies knowledge of system, hardware, software, and other applications and techniques. Corrects errors, conducts peer reviews, and ensures standards are met. The candidate must function well in a creative, high-tempo, collaborative, cross-functional, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Integrate FT&S hardware/software and MSP flight and ground software to support program test
  • Provide a confident, knowledgeable interface to FT&S users and answer technical questions as they arise


Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in software development and test.
  • Experience in developing and documenting software process, procedures and practices.
  • Unix or Linux experience.
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Desire to work with high performance software development teams


Desired skills

  • C++, Ada, Perl, and/or Python development experience
  • Experience with model based development and coninuous integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Test-bed experience
  • Ability to trouble shoot HW/SW issues and find root cause
  • Experience with Instruction set simulations and/or real-time simulations
  • Flight software testbeds and command and control (or T&C) subsystems experience
  • RF Experience, Electrical Engineering or other Engineering background to be able to learn new engineering concepts
