Software Engineer

As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll work on everything from customer-facing web and mobile applications using cutting-edge open source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful services, to back-end Java based systems using the hottest techniques in Big Data.

We are building a huge database driven cutting edge app in Go.

Job Description

This software engineering developer role is expected to be hands-on in coding and testing of data driven software applications. The candidate is expected to be experienced in development of enterprise data applications using C/C++/Go/Python/Spark.

Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills

Excellent programming skills in C/C++ OR Go OR Python OR Spark

Must be able to write clean, performance-centric, reusable and understandable code.

Must follow good coding standards and should document the design and implementation.

Sound Principles of software engineering

Knowledge on RDBMS/NoSQL databases

Responsibilities:
Design and implement code in low level programming languages

Understand and implement algorithms that searches/writes large volumes of data

Create data centric applications

Write and execute unit test cases

Needs to work in an agile environment

Perform benchmarking and performance analysis

Proactively research for solutions to problems

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience

At least 4 years of experience in server side data technologies with open source

At least 2 years’ experience in Go language or at least 2 years’ experience in Python or at least 2 years’ experience in Spark or at least 2 years’ experience in C/C++
