Software Engineer

Honeywell Aerospace Services is seeking a software/technical support engineer for its Simulation and Training Industry Support team. The simulator support team provides solutions and technical support for manufacturers of simulation devices used to train pilot and maintenance personnel. This team supports a broad range of Honeywell avionics and mechanical products across all aircraft types, military and commercial, by providing hardware, data, technical support, and software products, the latter of which include:

  • EPIC / APEX displays and Flight Management System (FMS), also known as Epic Rehost or EASE
  • Air Transport FMS, including Pegasus and Legacy (SDP185, AMD29k, and HI29k-II) in Pascal, ADA, and C
  • Next Gen FMS
  • Surveillance products, including Mark V-A EGPWS, TAWS for BGA platforms, and AESS (EGPWS, TCAS and weather radar)

    The successful candidate will work multiple projects in a variety of software languages over various avionics platforms, and will have:

  • Experience in software development of small to medium sized Windows applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Knowledge/expertise to create/troubleshoot Windows applications, such as improving software performance using profiling tools (such as affinity, multi-core tasking, etc.)
  • Languages: C, C++ required; C# desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, build, modify, and/or support software simulation products, such as those listed above, and software tools
  • Provide technical support for the qualification of full flight simulators and training devices, in accordance with customer needs and cert authority regulations
  • Resolve complex customer issues and when necessary, coordinate broader technical support from Engineering, Product Management, etc. as needed
  • Educate simulator manufacturer customers on Honeywell products, interfaces, and infrastructures, sufficient to enable the customer to integrate hardware or software or to simulate Honeywell products
  • Provide technical input to support bid/proposal efforts
  • Provide recommendations/guidance for simulation support of new programs
  • Travel: onsite support, including international travel, as required to support customers and products

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in software engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in software development of small to medium sized Windows applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Languages: C, C++ required
