Background: The Cyber Systems and Operations Group (Group 51) at thr Laboratory works closely with the nation’s cyber forces, intelligence community, and federal agencies to identify operational gaps and analyze their current and planned systems and missions. We develop securable and usable technological systems that enhance the situational awareness, and battle management, command and control of cyberspace as a domain needed for multiple cyber missions, including integration across traditional mission domains and sensing layers. We produce systems that enable operations at the intersection of cyber and the electromagnetic domains, including cyber-physical, electronic warfare, communications, and tactical systems.

Assignment: The candidate’s primary role as an implementer and integrator , will be to improve the capabilities and performance of data ingest and back-end processing components, integrate with related user-facing web applications, perform related testing, and compose, compile, and maintain documentation for users and administrators. A secondary role will be to assist the development team in the planning and execution of effective agile software development practices.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate must have at least 1 Certification. MS with at least 3 years of applicable experience. If BS at least 5 years’ experience.
  • The candidate must have expertise in the following software/applications: Java, Javascript, Linux, Agile software development, source code version control systems (i.e., git & Github).
  • Candidate will have knowledge of unit testing and integration testing.
  • Candidate must have knowledge indeveloping, debugging, and executing software in a Windows and Linux environment.
  • Candidate will have knowledge in producing, editing and maintaining documentation aimed at users and other developers.

Preferred Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate should have the following preferred qualifications;
    • o Familiarity with developing software in Node.js.
    • o Familiarity with software builds systems, such as Maven and Jenkins.
    • o Experience with full-text indexes, log aggregation and dashboards: Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana.
    • o Experience with big data applications: Hadoop, Storm, Accumulo, Spark.
    • o Experience with JSON, Protobuf, and SQL-based databases.

Limited travel may be required.

MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN –All personnel must successfully pass a Commercial Background Investigation (CBI) before receiving facility access and obtain a DoD Interim Clearance.
