Software Development Engineer- Cognitive IoT Group

IBM Research is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join the Cognitive IoT research group.

As a Software Engineer in Research, you will build new and innovative products and solutions that will be delivered as new offerings for IBM. You will own the innovation from its earliest inception, through prototypes, MVP’s, POC and its first deployments with customers.

Our team is working on innovative new technology and solutions that leverage connected IoT sensors in many different industries and use cases, including: cognitive systems that can identify the cause of failures, and enabling people to interact with physical spaces via virtual assistants.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions, from design to coding to release to customers
• Work directly with internal and external customers to understand their needs, and leverage their feedback as a source for new ideas
• Create, propose and explore new innovations

Position location: Haifa or Tel Aviv.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Degree or advanced degree in computer science
• Experience with Python (required) and Node.js (optional)
• Experience with 1 or more types of data storage such as relational databases, object stores and graph databases
• Thrives working in a team and in making others great
• Passion for learning and exploring new technologies

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

• Experience with IoT technologies is a plus
• Relevant course work in machine learning algorithms, semantic models and semantic representation
