Software Developer (Grails) – REMOTE

Overview

Devis is currently seeking a Grails Software Developer who is well versed in open source technologies and comfortable all around the technology stack. This position will sit at our HQ in Arlington (Courthouse), VA with the option to be REMOTE!

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Will work in a small agile team to design, implement, deploy and support products and features for government customers
• Will work in a fast paced environment where your opinion matters and you will be able to see the fruit of your work deployed to our customers on short release cycles
• Will work on our development team building our suite of web applications, core APIs and 3rd party integrations.
• Will work with the software development team and product management to design product specifications, delivery timelines and completed applications, as well as participate in the development and support of both government and internal business applications
• Will lead the development of multiple projects including but not limited to: creating and maintaining high quality code documentation, conducting research on emerging technologies and determining how to apply them to current initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a web application developer
• Development experience with Grails framework ( Spring, Grails 1 and 3 are a plus )
• Strong command of CSS , HTML5 , JavaScript , JSON ( Bootstrap and jQuery are a plus )
• Will have knowledge and skills with Java -based web applications
• Must be detail oriented, self-driven and logical
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with other team members and departments
• Curious mind; has a passion for learning new technologies
• Able to think outside of the box to resolve issues and create solutions
• Strong background in Web Services such as REST ( desired )
• Experience with Relational Databases ( desired )
• Experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements ( desired )
• Adaptable for a high growth environment with a positive, can-do attitude ( desired )

Education / Certifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in software development

Clearance Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance
