The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for a software developer to join its team.

Position Summary

The Software Developer is responsible for internal custom development and systems integration for the IAPP. In addition, the position requires working closely with third-party IT vendors to develop custom solutions and integrations by communicating requirements between IAPP staff and its vendors, monitoring implementation progress, and assisting in quality assurance of deliverables.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IAPP system integrations through common web service standards
  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development lifecycle
  • Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting
  • Ensure that database and data integrity are maintained
  • Write and maintain technical procedures and documentation for new and existing applications including operations, user guide, etc.
  • Responsible for adherence to departmental budget so that deliverables are on-time and within budget

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a technical field of study and at least three years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience programming with server- and client-side scripting languages, SQL, and an understanding of system integration technologies like SOAP and REST is required.
  • A strong background in PHP/Laravel, Angular.js, and Ionic 2 is highly preferred.
  • The IAPP develops and maintains a Customer Relationship Management system built on Salesforce. Knowledge of building custom solutions on Force.com technologies like Apex, Visualforce, and SOQL are very beneficial.
