As a software developer intern, work with and/or develop technologies to advance the capabilities of tape products in the area of programming – using C/C++, scripting, and through both Object Oriented and Agile methods.
Key development activities include code design, development and unit/functional test in the area of code/firmware on a Linux based Operating System focusing on embedded programming, communication protocols, host application software support, and user-interfaces.
Additional details and expectations for this job:
The team at IBM is looking at candidates for a potential internship/co-op position. This job requires the developer to perform the work at IBM-Tucson in a lab and/or office location. The tentative start date would be sometime in March of 2017, with part-time (18-24 hours/week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours/week max) in the summer.
1 year of coursework or work experience in C/C++ Programming, Problem Solving
English: 85% verbal/written aptitude
1 year of coursework or work experience in Scripting (Perl, Python, Kornshell), UNIX, Linux.
