Software Developer

Business Contributions: The output generated by the Software Developer position is quality, functional applications that enhance business operations. The three major business contributions the Software Developer provides to Oasis Outsourcing are:

• Providing quality applications to ease and enhance ability of internal clients to manage payrolls;
• Develop software to enable customized reports for external clients;
• Develop software to enable benefits feeds, customized checks and feeds to various vendors.

Essential Functions:

Writing or Modifying Code

• Using input from Business Analyst, write code for payroll applications using Pick Basic, SB+ and other languages
• Modify existing programs.
• Document coding,
• Review code and documentation of peers

Writing Test Programs

• Develop programs to test the functionality of applications
• Run programs and analyze results

Contribute to the Design of Applications

• Review and give input on application architecture
• Give suggestions regarding implementation
• Create prototypes or mockups if necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

The Software Developer is a position requiring a mix of technical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge:

• Coding languages – SB+, Pick Basic, MvQuery, and SB+ Report Writer
• Documentation of coding and modules
• Project Life Cycle

Skills:

• Microsoft Office suite
• Customer orientation – sensitivity to creating solutions that address the needs of the customer
• Problem-solving – find solutions to large and small problems with least disruption
• Multi-tasking – able to track and control activity on a variety of tasks

Experience:

• Payroll experience preferred
• 3 – 5- years Software Development experience preferred

Education, Experience, and Training:

• Bachelors degree in software programming or equivalent experience
