MetLife’s Investments IT Division is seeking a hands-on IT professional with broad IT and Business experience for its Real Estate Technology team. The Real Estate Technology team is a diverse team of developers, business analysts, and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to address core business challenges within MetLife Investments. This role will work closely with the Back Office Finance, Front Office Portfolio, Asset Managers, and the Technology and Operation groups on the suite of applications in support of Commercial Mortgage, and Agricultural Finance portfolios. This role will be required to provide business analysis and hands-on development and partner closely with the business customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships and collaborate with our business partners on the development and implementation of application systems.

Assists in development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms

Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions.

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging

Follows approved SDLC and project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.

Design use cases, functional specifications, reports screen prototypes.

Designs and develops applications; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary.

Understand functional requirements and respond to Test team ambiguity review questions.

Contribute to user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:Required:
2+ years of hands on experience with Microsoft development platform including C#, ASP.Net, -Visual Studio.Net 4 or 4.5

MS SQL Server 2012 or above; SSRS, SSIS, SSAS

Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in related field – computer science, MIS, CIS, etc.

Preferred:
Real Estate or Investments background

Accounting skills

Experience with financial services industry

DevOps knowledge/experience
