Software Application Engineer

Job Description

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products. May work directly with companies that develop applications software, focuses on enabling and optimization of third party software applications. Code may be used in a wide variety of commercial or end-user applications. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.

-Ability to adapt to changing requirements and new technology

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Assisting in performing various software optimizations with software vendors to test and assess performance of optimized kernels for integration into application release.

-Converting/developing CPU-based or Graphics based optimized code.

– Assessing Microsoft’s operating system and development tools as well as developing proof of concept applications.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements

-Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computational Science or related fields.

-Must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.

-Minimum of 2 years of experience with C and/or C++.

Preferred Qualifications

-Knowledge of GPUs and OpenCL.

– Familiarity with x86 architecture & experience with software performance optimization.

-Knowledge of Intel software development tools and performance libraries
