Social Media Strategy Lead

The Lead Strategist role for HP’s Commercial business sits on the Global Social Media & Community Management Team and will lead strategic planning and consultancy for all commercial social efforts across the HP organization, including Print and Personal Systems. This role will serve as a key strategic partner to worldwide commercial social leads to ensure campaigns, evergreen/always-on and event-specific social efforts are guided through to impactful execution. RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Planning & Consultancy: Employ a strong audience-centric approach, guiding all commercial social efforts in a direction that resonates with commercial target audience segments in the right channel, with the right message, at the right moment in their customer journey Consult on social media content creation and campaigns designed to support product launches, sustain interest in existing products, influencer marketing, events and sponsorships Drive ongoing evaluation of the B2B social ecosystem to help drive an optimal customer journey across platforms Campaign Execution: Partner with Regional Social Community Management Leads to ensure commercial social campaigns are effectively and efficiently executed across country-specific social channels Serve as primary liaison with a broad range of internal partners – including Worldwide commercial social teams, Print marketing team, Personal Systems marketing team, digital/web team – to ensure integration and effective and efficient workflows are in place Social Reporting & Analytics: Define social reporting strategy to enable continuous optimization of commercial social media campaigns; compile data inputs to host strategic conversations about campaign performance in social channels Social Platform Strategy and Innovation: Lead strategic projects that drive improvements to our brand’s commercial presence on primary social platforms – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Spiceworks etc. Ongoing evaluation of social media platforms and vendors that support the evolution of HP’s social strategy Education and Experience Required: BA or BS degree in Communications, Marketing or Computer Science.

Expertise and knowledge in the online space (web, email, search, database marketing, chat marketing, podcasting, blogging, privacy, e-business, etc), including trends and technologies. 7+ years of experience in interactive marketing or customer experience/user interface. Knowledge and Skills: Advanced writing and editing for the web – very minimal peer or manager edits needed. Proven web analytical skills (measurement, ROI, forecasting).

Strong organization and program management skills. Ability to link interactive plans and activities to business results. Strong knowledge and understanding of interactive media, tools and technologies (all channels and pricing models). Strong knowledge of Internet principles and web site production.

Strong knowledge of direct marketing and CRM. Maintain HP marketing management systems as needed. Proven experience managing, leading, driving and measuring virtual teams toward common goal. High levels of tact and diplomacy.
