Casual Fridays is a social media agency that specializes in social media management and strategy for companies ready to surprise and delight their audience. We are looking for a smart, creative, and driven Social Media Coordinator based in San Diego.

ARE YOU IN?

You live and breathe social media and copywriting. Typos and grammar mistakes drive you crazy. You find a deep satisfaction in seeing an entire month’s content calendar neatly organized and filled out. You understand both how to tell a story, as well as identify the perfect visual to go with it. After your content published, you’re passionate about engaging with the online community and taking care of potential customers. Your customer service aptitude is high and you understand how to make people feel heard.

EXPERIENCE

Our ideal candidate knows San Diego and has some agency experience. You’re ready to hit the ground running. Armed with real-world experience creating content on multiple social channels for businesses, you’re looking to join a close-knit team to deliver outstanding creative content for clients. Oh, and you love pulling together reports to show off our efforts. If you can’t spell, seriously don’t apply. You’ll be working closely with a strategist, graphic designers, and community management teams to ensure your clients are taken care of.

ROLE

This is a full-time position based in San Diego. No two days are alike at Casual Fridays, so you need to be the kind of person that’s a self-motivated go-getter ready to lead your clients and your team to success. You report to a Strategist, but you’re expected to know your clients and contribute fresh ideas. You’ll be collaborating with other team members, managing multiple client projects, and taking ownership in the projects’ success (or failures). Additionally, you’ll be comfortable with the art of time management and know how to prioritize. When it comes to playing well with others, you’re a cheerleader who loves to make your coworkers laugh and smile.

You will be working in a high pressure environment, occasionally under very tight deadlines, and you’re a key member of the team. Did we mention that spelling and grammar are extremely important? Yes, yes we did.

Job Location: San Diego, CA. Relocation not provided for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with account strategist on campaigns and social strategies
  • Prepare, schedule, and post approved content for multiple social networks using our planning & publishing tools
  • Engage with other users using the appropriate style and tone of our clients
  • Draft and post approved responses for online reviews
  • Basic photo editing and manipulation and file management
  • Performing social media audits and page management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Journalism, or English or equivalent experience
  • Excellent creative copywriting skills for social media
  • High level of familiarity with online social channels
  • Must be tech savvy; comfortable with smartphone apps and technology
  • Efficient problem solver with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Agency or startup experience preferred
  • Hotel, hospitality, or tourism experience is a plus
