Social Media Content Strategist

Do you scroll through Instagram before you even get out of bed in the morning? Do you look at graphics on Facebook and think, “I could do better than that.” Do you keep up with the latest social media trends and trending topics? Do you like the idea of a flexible, fast-paced work environment? Then Matchstick Social is the place for you!

We’re in the market for a kick ass Social Media Content Strategist, and we want to know if you have what it takes to join our team!

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Account management of up to 8 clients at a time.
  • Responsible for client communication, monthly reporting and daily content development.
  • Community management and consumer response of all client platforms.
  • Crafting engaging and creative content for all clients on their respective social media platforms.
  • Basic graphic design (Photoshop skills are excellent, but not required!) to make eye-catching and appealing images for use on social.
  • Researching and writing blogs for clients to post on their websites (which also make great social media content).
  • Reporting on your previous month’s successes and failures and using that information to build strong content and strategy for the future.
  • Work across Excel, media platforms, and analytics interfaces.
  • Find new and clever ways to make puns using the word “fire.”
  • Stay in constant communication with clients and coworkers to ensure your content strategy is being executed effectively.
  • Getting really good at the ring and hook game.
  • Constantly thinking out-of-the-box and trying to find ways to make your clients stand out (in a good way) from all the clutter of content on social media.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience writing professional content for popular social media sites, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and SparkleCity (the ideal candidate will also know that we totally made that last one up).
  • Organized, has excellent time management skills, and effective working independently and within a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously work on multiple project and accounts.
  • Some experience running Paid Social Media Marketing campaigns.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics, Squarespace and WordPress
  • Impeccable grammar and is highly detail oriented with a strong attention to follow-through.
  • Enjoys working with a close-knit team of social media enthusiasts in our straight-outta-Pinterest Charleston office.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Worships at the feet of Gary Vaynerchuk and Dale Carnegie.
  • Above average writing and communication skills.
  • Degree in writing, communications or marketing.

Must be local to Charleston area.

Salary determined based on experience.
