Senior Technology Analyst; RACF Administrator a must

Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs RACF Administrator duties
  • Provides guidance and consultation on RACF setups
  • Performs RACF security reviews in accordance with Bank standards
  • Provides governance of access to RACF for CIO team
  • Adheres to policy and procedures for the mainframe and RACF security.
  • Develops local procedures where needed.
  • Acts in a larger project planning capacity.
  • Supports the Request for Information (RFI) or Request for Proposal (RFP) with vendors if required.
  • Enables operation groups to successfully accept system changes by informing stakeholders of their implications; recommend actions as appropriate.
  • Manages complexity across business value, technology, and interaction models.
  • Possesses a deep understanding and problem solving ability of IT of various scale, degree and dimension of complexity
  • Ensures project scope and benefits are clearly articulated and risks are identified.
  • Gathers requirements and documents requirements as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of end-user materials.
  • Anticipates and reduces complexity for others.
  • Liaises with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, and recommends solutions to enable the organization to meet its goals
  • Analyzes data and creates documents and plans in service of informing, advising, or updating stakeholders or providing governance evidence
  • Filters and “cleans” data related to RACF, and reviews computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems.
  • Understands and communicates technical and architectural complexities of a technical solution so that project stakeholders can easily understand.
  • Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Recommends approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes in the organization to improve overall efficiency
  • Supports the execution of key improvement initiatives using data-driven insights to deliver positive financial and customer outcomes.
  • Develops, recommends, and employs productivity aids in all aspects of assignments to accelerate delivery.
  • Solves complexity within one or more systems and technologies
  • Develops innovative approaches to create solutions to resolve problems and significant issues
  • Understands the scope of complexity that exists across business value, technology, and interaction models.
  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen the capability at BMO, such as: sharing expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks across technology.
  • Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities & individual learning

Qualifications

Core Knowledge:
  • Generally 4-7 years of work experience in IT or business environment and/or B.S./B.A. in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business, preferably on the IBM mainframe
  • Possesses RACF Administrator or Auditor experience, preferably 3 years or longer.
  • Possesses analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possesses the ability to create/contribute to tactical and strategic vision.
  • Demonstrates applied knowledge of one or more analysis and problem decomposition techniques
  • Understands complete Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrates writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Understands and can explain to others the core processes involved in their area of support
  • Demonstrates the ability to explain technical terms and processes simply and clearly
  • Demonstrates negotiation and influencing skills
  • Remains alert to new techniques for insights, analytics, and data visualization, and thinks about new ways of applying them.
