Senior Software Engineer, .Net/C#

Senior Software Engineer – Immediate Need, Contract, On-Site, Minneapolis, MN. The Senior Software Engineer/Analyst will play a key role in design, development and support of a multi-million dollar application initiative. The incumbent will own a business critical strategic cross-business platform and collaborate heavily with trading desk associates and market risk managers to fully grasp business requirements. In this role, he/she will have continuous opportunities to grow technical and business knowledge in daily collaboratation Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure the delivered solution is compliant, secure scalable and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct the technical design and development of complex application systems using existing & emerging technology platforms
• Design, codes, tests, debugs and documents, applications of high complexity, significance, and risk.
• Conducts analysis of organizational needs for the development and implementation of application systems
• Estimates & defines project tasks and timelines – accurately analyzing & estimating cost and time
• Participate in application architecture functions.
• Create & review unit and test plans, always identifying opportunities to improve testing process
• Develop basic and detailed program specifications.
• Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems
• Identify & manage interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations.

Key Skill & Experience Requirements:

• College Degree, Computer Science preferred
• 6+ years designing and developing .NET desktop applications using C#
• Expert understanding of Object Oriented design and various design patterns
• Extensive experience in financial domain, specifically trading and derivatives
• Experience developing & integrating messaging technology (Solace, Tibco or MQ)
• Strong MS SQL Server programming
• Deep knowledge of server side development (multi-threading and memory management)
• Experience approaching large datasets from a performance standpoint
• Agile environment, GIT for version control
