Senior PHP Developer (Full Stack)

We are looking for a Senior Developer with solid PHP development skills. As a Senior Developer, you have a broad range of hands-on experience up and down the stack, along with the ability to create, architect and maintain innovative products and solutions. Senior Developers are great communicators who are adept at working with and leading cross-functional teams located across the country. They are self-motivated and committed technical leaders that love to learn new skills, deliver quality software and thrive in a fast-paced development environment.

Job Responsibilities

Be a hands-on technical project leader by designing & implementing new technical solutions, maintaining existing systems and leading other project staff

Be responsible for understanding and resolving technical issues on production environments (when identified by ops)

Be an active member of the core development team by implementing new features, writing automated tests, participating in design and code reviews and adhering to standards and best practices

Develop and document critical application components of existing systems and recommend improvements that should be considered

Participate in identifying project requirements and defining feature sets

Participate in project estimation and technical project planning activities

Communicate various aspects of a project to the client throughout implementation and delivery

Required Qualifications & Experience

BS or MS in computer science or equivalent in experience

5+ years implementing software solutions in an agile development environment

3+ years maintaining production systems in a linux environment

3+ years of demonstrated success in a consulting environment architecting and delivering complex web applications

2+ years as a technical lead on at least one complex software project

2+ years experience designing, building and maintaining all components of a complex PHP web application (with experience across the stack including JavaScript, HTML, CSS and MySQL)

Strong background in object oriented design and data modeling

Proven track record estimating complex projects accurately and delivering them on time

Experience leading cross-functional teams including offshore technical resources

Proven communication and teamwork skills

Strong mentorship skills

Preferred Experience

Experience with a broad mix of technical environments strongly desired. In addition to PHP, experience with Python, Ruby, Javascript, Java, Scala or c# environments a definite plus.

Experience with Client side Javascript frameworks such as Angular or React

Experience working with AWS, Azure, OpenStack and other cloud service providers

Experience working with teams with good CI/CD practices and exposure to related automation tooling (e.g. ansible, chef, saltstack etc)

Experience with other database systems besides MySQL highly desired (including NoSQL)

Mobile development experience is also a big plus
