Senior PeopleSoft Developer

The Senior Information Technology Systems Specialist (Senior PeopleSoft Developer) is a key role within the Information Technology Services Department with the responsibility of working with the technical and functional teams in support of the PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 applications. The responsibilities for this position will include the development efforts to support the PeopleSoft HCM enterprise application, which includes functions for Core HR, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Applicant Recruiting, Leave Management, and Self-Service components

The position will be responsible for senior level development tasks. Those tasks include the design and development of more difficult technical changes, such as web services to provide real time integrations to other applications and systems that rely upon HR and payroll data. The position will also be responsible for peer review of development code and design decisions.

This position will be involved in application deployments, operational processes including on-call support, policies, and standards to support the needs of the internal City of Phoenix internal and external customers. This position also provides production support by analyzing, programming, testing, and deploying solutions to complex production problems as well as correcting data in critical situations.

SALARY

$69,950 – $104,416 annually. Appointment can be made up to $104,416 depending upon qualifications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of development experience with production support issues/problems resolution with a PeopleSoft HCM application with Payroll, Benefits Administration, Talent Acquisition Management (TAM), and Core HR.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, business administration, mathematics, or related field (an additional four years of experience can be substituted for the bachelor’s degree).
  • Development experience with PeopleTools 8.5x (Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, Application Packages, Data Mover, and COBOL).
  • Development experience with developing real-time web services or experience with deploying solutions using Integration Broker between PeopleSoft applications and/or third party applications.
  • Development experience with reporting tools such as SQR, XML Publisher, Crystal Reports, and PeopleSoft Query.
  • Experience providing peer review of development code and design decisions.
  • The ability to work after hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Includes the job requirements listed above, plus:

  • Experience working with Public Sector PeopleSoft customers.
  • Experience with PeopleTools 8.55 and PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
  • Experience with Time and Labor and Enterprise Learning Management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership.
  • Ability to follow written standards and procedures as well as work independently.
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical requirements and then generate the coded work product using the Application Development Life Cycle.
