Senior Finance Manager, Rochester Plant Controller

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager who will be the head of finance for the Rochester manufacturing site and a member of the Rochester Site Leadership Team. In this position, the Senior Finance Manager, Rochester Plant Controller will be expected to provide total financial leadership, direction and analysis for the Rochester site and assist the leadership team in driving towards annual goals, cost reduction activities and increasing shareholder value. Leads the financial staff at the site and is accountable for cost accounting, business analysis, financial reporting, strategic relationships and team development. This position is located in Rochester, NY.

    • The Responsibilities:

      • Participates as integral part of the plant management team. Provides thought leadership, efficient communication and proactive use of data to guide management teams to achieve goals and objectives.
      • Lead monthly close process, quarterly forecasting process and annual budgeting activities to ensure that the organization is meeting its financial commitments including, achieving manufacturing variances, inventory, productivity, capital and headcount targets.
      • Partner with global/regional teams working on strategic functional initiatives, such as operational and financial processes and liaising with strategic partners.
      • Ensures that product costs are accurate and properly accounted for and that bills of materials and costing accurately reflect production operations
      • Develop and ensure financial controls are enforced and adhered to as well as ensure accuracy of production reporting, conformance with cycle count procedures, and validity and accuracy of inventory adjustments.
      • Leads and develops a high performing team which includes, coaching, training, motivating and leading.
      • Provides financial leadership for plant initiatives which include; new product introductions or other growth initiatives, productivity projects, make vs. buy analysis and capital investment decisions.
      • This position will have five direct reports.
      • Perform other work related duties as assigned.

      The Individual:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university or college is required. MBA desirable
      • 10 years’ experience is required.
      • Must have experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment.
      • Must have Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
      • Must be committed to the timeline-driven process associated with reporting deadline, quarterly forecasts, and other ad hoc projects
      • Must be a dedicated team player with strong critical thinking skills
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including high level of proficiency using Excel is required.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members is required.
      • Must be an analytical thinker with excellent problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
      • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects are required.
      • 10% travel domestic travel is required.
