Senior Engineer

American Express Travel Related Services seeks a Senior Engineer to perform all technical aspects of platform configuration and automation. Perform hands-on architecture, design, and development of multi-tenant provisioning systems. Write code and unit tests, work on API specs and automation, and conduct code reviews and testing. Function as a member of an Agile team and help drive consistent operational practices. Work with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and monitor a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues. Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies. Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, followed by 5 years of experience monitoring and automating products, Linux administration, including RedHat or CentOS, and virtualization. Experience with cloud computing, including OpenStack and VMWare, is required. Experience applying Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies is required.

Demonstrated experience with security and threat detection tools is required. Experience with ASP.NET, SQL, PL/SQL, DB2, experience with automating hosted monitoring solutions, including Nimsoft, Sensu, or Dynatrace, is required. Experience with scaling distributed systems, TCP/IP protocols, and managing web applications is required. Programming experience with Java, Ruby, and Python is required.
