Senior End User-Computer Systems Administrator

Duties will include being a Service Owner for all Microsoft Windows servers and Linux servers, virtualization and cloud platforms. Manages people of highly skilled technical background.

Possesses a technical background in a variety of infrastructure platforms across the IT landscape; servers, virtualization, storage, and public cloud platforms like AWS & Azure. Demonstrates good customer interface skills within their environment, driving discussions with senior personnel regarding incidents, trade-offs, best practices, and risk management. Able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in helping customers take advantage of the efficiency, cost savings, and quick innovation available in the cloud.

Key Accountabilities

• Engage with customers to understand business needs.

• Craft a team of highly skilled individuals to improve our operational excellence, speed of infrastructure delivery, quality and adoption of new technologies across Enterprise and Cloud computer

• programs.

• Drive requirements and input into our new technology introduction process by working closely with our Hosting Services Engineering team.

• Ensure consistent standards are across the service landscape and also global adherence through our Regional Hosting Services leaders.

• Continuously look to identify new methods to improve the service, leveraging automation opportunities wherever possible. Speed of delivery is key.

• Participate as an active technology member on the Global Hosting Services Leadership team.

• Develop and mentor team leaders to help them with their ongoing career development to meet the service needs of our business.

• Work and collaborate closely with the other IT Support groups and our business unit IT customers.

• Develop dashboards/metrics/reports/presentations to articulate service effectiveness.

• Work with the Regional Hosting Services leadership to help ensure project delivery and service levels for the region are being successfully achieved.

• Determine there are proper controls/security/process adherence throughout the global landscape for their service.

• Manage budget/spend for the benefit of our global objectives and business needs

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science or Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired

• 5/7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications

• Possess highly technical and analytical skills

• Strong customer focus and bias for action

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Well experienced in one or more of the following areas:

o Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows)

o Database (MySQL, SQL, Oracle)

o Software design or development

o Infrastructure architecture

o IT Security

o BigData/Hadoop

o Troubleshooting

o Performance Tuning

o Tools for Operations Automation and Configuration Management (e.g. Chef/Puppet)

o Continuous Integration

• Preferred previous experience in managing a large technical enterprise environment

• Preferred previous experience with hosted service offerings
