Senior Designer, PINK – Victoria's Secret Beauty – New York, NY

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Designer is responsible for creating commercially viable designs and layouts for the Victoria’s Secret PINK Beauty category. This role has an exceptional eye and ability to create new design ideas while researching the market for innovative design trends. This role presents and delivers brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy, encompassing style, color and print for new/existing product lines. This role researches and interprets fashion trends and consumer needs that uphold the integrity of the product lines/brand. This role demonstrates a passion for the brand, inspires individuals and relies on managerial skills to plan and accomplish goals. Manages works under minimal supervision, exercising a moderate degree of scope/decision-making.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create brand-right, compelling, commercial package designs that reflect the conceptual direction/business strategy; adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization

• Develop and present original concepts that encompass style, color and patterns as a result of interpreting fashion trends

• Deliver product designs with flawless execution; achieving goals with speed, agility and acute attention to detail

• Take an active lead to ensure designs maintain a cohesive look and feel across PINK brand

• Apply deep understanding of illustration, construction and iconography for all projects

• Collaborate and communicate with key cross-functional partners throughout the design process including Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Development.

• Implement processes to understand/anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs

• Provide feedback and constructive criticism to assist in project development

• Identify and recommend resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and conduct ongoing competitor research/trend analysis

• Diffuse problems and put forward solutions that are in the best interest of the company, employees and customers

• Anticipate/solve potential issues and provide conflict resolution

• Manage, inspire and develop junior design talent

• Build/maintain collaborative and effective relationships

• Assess practices to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and speed in delivery

• Ensure deliverables meet budget and time commitments without compromising design excellence

Qualifications

• Degree in the design field with 8-10 years’ related industry experience

• Packaging, production and press run experience

• Experience with relevant design software particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

• Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance

• Experience at applying theories related to color schemes, use of space, text placement, usability and visual flow

• Demonstrates a commitment to bringing in new sources of creative inspiration to work and team and will be driven to enhance creative and technical skills
