Senior Designer

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Warner Bros. Consumer Products Inc. seeks a Senior Designer for the Creative/PD & BA department. This Senior Designer for accessories, footwear and adult beauty will handle medium to high complexity design assignments specific to the design of jewelry, watches, bags, shoes, notepads etc., research illustrations, graphic and product trends/product development. Assist in translating Warner Bros. characters/qualities into fashion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand fashion vision and trends as related to accessories (jewelry, watches, bags, shoes etc.) across all segments.

Design balanced graphic elements (using color, icon size and space relationships) needed to develop product for all age segments.

Translate Warner Bros. story telling into design and product application.

Conduct trend research regarding influences, illustration, graphics and products.

Understand the marketplace and business climate.

Understand elements of product design, print and pattern development, color, typography and page layout.

Work closely with product managers to produce fresh, compelling designs that meet the business needs.

Follow best practices, implemented and shared across all areas.

Understand technical aspects of construction of products and components in regard to design and development.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BA or 2 years Technical College in a design discipline.

3-5 years’ experience in product design.

Must have the ability to clearly communicate and present vision and ideas.

Must be a team player and problem solver.

Must possess the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Must be a self-starter with a tenacious attitude and a strong work ethic.

Must possess the technical knowledge of manufacturing product construction.

Knowledge/awareness of competitive businesses.

Advanced skills working with Illustrator and Photoshop required.

Additional computer skills include InDesign, Word, Excel and Power Point.

Licensing business model experience is a plus.

Must be able to travel.
