As the Senior Database Developer with DBA knowledge you will directly support the Bureau of Fiscal Services IT effort. In this role you will design, implement and maintain moderately complex databases. In addition you will:

PL/SQL Programming expertise, Database Administration tasks such as Partition/DB Maintenance, Stats collection for large tables/Staging tables.

Experience with efficient query design, performance tuning, a good understanding of Oracle Optimizer and features.

Collaboration with DBAs, Application Development teams, and other partners.

Develop database functionality in accordance with project deliverables.

Knowledge and implementation of Database encryption.

Develop and maintain expertise in use of automated tools for database design and implementation.

Design and maintain logical and physical data models (relational & dimensional), data dictionary and database volumetric.

Performance tuning problematic areas of database tables, indexes, functions and stored procedures.

Have hands on experience with database upgrades.

Advise applications development staff and users on database solutions to business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities.

Qualifications

Technical Skills Required:

  • 5+ years industry experience with Oracle 10g/11g/12c
  • Understanding and operability of an Unix / Linux environment
  • Understanding of related middleware technologies, in the area of Java (ADF, Apache, WebLogic, JRE)
  • Expert in PL/SQL, Stored Procedures and Performance Tuning.
  • Experience with development related end-to-end DB setup using DDL/DML
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Grid Control, Oracle Diagnostics and Tuning Packs
  • Experience with Shell scripting including vi and general file management commands.
  • Experience with database partitioning in range, list, hash or similar
  • Understanding of high availability, database failover models, hardware architectures, SAN administration, scripting, and print management
  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
  • Experience with RMAN and knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios

Basic Qualification:

  • 5+ years industry experience in an Oracle Developer role with DBA knowledge
  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field
  • Advanced degree or Oracle Certification is a plus
