Senior Database Administrator

Constant Contact is looking for a smart, creative and energetic professional to join our Database Services Team. This team supports a wide variety of development, QA and production databases including DB2 UDB, MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle and MSSQL. We are currently looking for someone who has experience in implementing and managing multiple enterprise level DBMS’s and replication installations in a linux/unix environment. You should also have clear interest in learning and supporting other DBMS as well as non-traditional NoSql databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide DBA services including installations, replication, backups, loads, and schema alterations for all Constant Contact production and QA databases
• Contribute to database planning efforts such as disaster recovery design, tool selection, warehousing and scaling initiatives
• Assist with customer support and production issues as necessary
• Develops shell (Unix/Linux) scripts to automate DBA functions via puppet or chef.
• Develop and implement MySQL/DB2/NoSQL database standards and infrastructure
• Provide SQL and data model expertise to Business Analysts and other data mining users
• Mentors more junior DBA and intern/co-ops
• Assists and develops internal DBA standards

Requirements:

• S. Computer Science or equivalent
• 5-7+ years industry experience managing external customer facing databases
• Excellent knowledge of Structured Query Language
• Solid experience with shell programming and automation
• Basic system knowledge of Linux/Unix platform and storage integration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team oriented

Additional Skills:

• Previous experience with another DBMS
• Previous experience converting other DBMS’s to MySQL or NoSQL
• Experience with MySQL or DB2 replication
• Experience with MySQL (or NoSQL) sharding technology
• Experience with MySQL or DB2 usage as an “enterprise” database
• Experience with supporting MySQL/NoSQL in a public cloud environment
