SENIOR CONTROLLER FOR BOUTIQUE OFFICE

Established entrepreneur and real estate investor based is Las Vegas, NV has an opening for a highly experienced, senior level Controller. Reporting to the principal, who holds significant interests in commercial real estate and personal investments, the selected individual will analyze, consolidate and prepare reports on the financial and operational activities of a range of assets

The Controller will work closely with the principal and will be responsible for activities such as banking and financial analysis, business administration, and team oversight for various entities. including interests in partnerships and corporations, personal and commercial holdings, investments, living trust, and foundations. S(he) will develop and maintain task lists and follow projects to completion. The accurate consolidation of financial and operational information in comprehensive monthly reports is an essential focus of the position.

The selected individual will be responsible for the following:

1) Accounting and financial management;

2) Risk management;

3) Human Resources;

4) Foundation operations, including budgeting and reporting;

5) Other investment oversight, and assistance in strategic planning for these investments.

The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in commercial real estate development/management and other investment vehicles. The primary focus of this experience should involve financial analysis, comprehensive reporting, and financial controls. The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external alliances is also important in this role.

The desired candidate will consistently use common sense and good judgment and have a flexible disposition enabling him/her to effectively perform functional tasks and responsibilities while applying macro concepts and perspective.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Ten years in a senior level accounting position;

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or economics;

Minimum of five years in real estate development or asset management. Non-profit experience also useful.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare consolidated month-end reports with narrative and assumptions

  • Knowledge of contract administration and legal aspects of business entities;

  • Business maturity combined with sound business judgment and decision-making ability;
  • Effective negotiation skills;
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. This will encompass the full range of responsibilities in the accounting area.
