ABOUT THE JOB

A Senior Consultant will be responsible for working to provide solutions by working with customers to develop applications primarily for financial reporting. Specifically, they will be working with a finance team, senior management and IT to implement the highest quality solution.

Implementation work includes process redesign skills, application and system design, software installation/ troubleshooting and application development, training and ongoing support to our customer personnel. The majority of work is performed on-site at customers and prospects therefore requiring significant travel (as much as 80%).

Our consultants typically work together with customer resources and frequently with a team of other consultants to implement complex web-based Business Performance Management solutions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working in finance organizations, with a solid understanding of the nature of work performed by financial analysts, controllers, finance directors, and CFOs.

The ideal candidate must be committed to their customer’s success and will make personal sacrifices to ensure that success. They actively seek knowledge and experience and share their experience with others.

The ideal candidate will easily adapt to new environments and changing requirements. Candidates must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French. Solid interpersonal skills are a must. They should be able to demonstrate experience with structured project management and/or software package implementation process. Knowledge of customer server environment and experience with financial accounting processes is of great importance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimal Experience

Three-year college degree in fields such as (but not limited to) Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics, or CIS, or equivalent work experience
Five years of full time accounting or finance experience (or equivalent)
Understanding, analyzing and articulating common business processes and decisions to develop easy to use customer solutions
Excellent analytical ability
Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
Ability to effectively operate independently or in a team environment
Outstanding MS Office and data modeling skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in English

Optimal Experience

Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting, Finance or Information Technology
Five or more years’ experience consulting for software implementations a plus
A professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CMA, CGA, CA), advanced degrees (MBA, MFA), and/or other professional designations or certifications (applicable to accounting/finance and information technology)
Experience with VB.net or Visual Basic. Any object oriented programing a plus.
Prior experience with any of the following products is a plus:
- SAP Outlooksoft BPC
- SAP BOFC (Cartesis)
- HFM (Hyperion Financial Management)
- FDM (Financial Data Quality Management) or UpStream
- Hyperion Planning
- Hyperion Essbase
- IBM Cognos
- Or other EPM solutions.
