Senior Cognos Systems Administrator

As a Senior Cognos Platform Engineer with responsibilities for the enterprise platforms of Cognos your role on the team will include system monitoring, performance tuning, driving issue resolution, coordinating and executing environment builds. You will work with the devops team to implement and enhance AWS infrastructure and practices for the Cognos platform. You will work with the architecture team, project intake teams, and the Platform Engineering Lead to help determine capacity needs and anticipate performance issues. You will work with IBM Cognos vendor contacts and other Nike team members to drive upgrades and patches, and to ensure platform stability, integrity and responsiveness. You will participate in planning and execution of SAFE agile processes for the platform.

Qualifications
To make it clear, we’re not looking for just anyone. We’re looking for someone special, someone who had these experiences and clearly demonstrated these skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 5+ years of overall experience in Information Technology
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Cognos System Administration on Linux, preferably version 11. Windows platform knowledge a plus
• 1+ years of experience with application build automation processes and tools in AWS
• 1+ years of experience with application build automation processes and tools in Azure is a plus
• 1+ years of experience working in SAFE methodology
• Experience with other BI Platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, TM1 a plus.
• Strong experience with secured multi-user enterprise reporting/analytic platforms
• Strong Linux Administration and Linux scripting experience
• Experience in writing well-tuned SQL queries
• Experience with evaluating and implementing server and platform monitoring tools
• Knowledge of role-based data security and auditing processes
• Ability to investigate and/or coordinate investigations into high-profile, high-priority issues
• Strong experience working with operational support teams, both on-shore and off-shore
• Experience with process improvement and creating clear, concise documentation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
