The Technical Details

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and strengthening our application infrastructure and environment security by applying standards and best practices along with instrumenting monitoring tools to make development workflows highly secure and scalable

Design, build, and automate solutions utilizing AWS services

Build, update and automate platform’s CI/CD processes for new and existing applications

Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms

Help increase system performance with a focus on high availability and scalability

Stay up to date on contemporary tech trends and advocate based on relevance

Propose, scope, design, and implement various infrastructure architectures

Responsible for supporting infrastructure for high volume transactions at peak times

Instrument and build monitoring tools

Skills & Requirements

3+ years professional experience with AWS cloud environments

3+ years practical experience designing, building, and automating solutions utilizing AWS services – EC2, EB, SQS, IAM, S3, RDS, KMS, Route 53, Lambda, Kinesis, ECS and API Gateway

2+ years of experience building CI/CD pipeline automation in tools such as Jenkins/CloudBees with scripting languages such as Groovy, Ruby or Python

Experience instrumenting, logging and monitoring APM tools such as New Relic, Splunk, DataDog and AppDynamics

Experience working with IaC cloud automation tools such as Terraform, CDK, Chef, Puppet and Ansible

2+ years’ experience working in DevOps team/organizations with applied Agile development practices

Hands-on experience with Docker or similar container orchestration services

In-depth, practical experience with Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, trends, and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings
