Senior Applications Analyst

Zekelman Industries seeks a Senior Applications Analyst for the SAP Solution Center (SSC) within our IT department, located at our corporate headquarters in Chicago. Reporting to the Manager of the SAP Solution Center, this person provides application support and consulting with an emphasis on delivering excellent customer service. Primary activities include triage and resolution of support and enhancement requests for internal customers in multiple SAP ECC 6.0 instances across multiple business units and functions. Desired candidate will have a demonstrated mastery in SAP Materials Management (MM).

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to Zekelman SAP users, communicating timely and professionally via phone, email, or in person.
• Handle support calls, triage open support tickets, analyze the root cause and propose solution detail, provide 1st level support in SAP Procurement and Logistics.
• Provide 2nd level support in functional areas in which candidate has appropriate level of expertise including resolution of break fix and more complex enhancement requests
• Work on moderately complex tasks to enhance existing solution; indentifying, evaluating, recommending options and implementing solution.
• Contribute on medium to larger scale SAP projects.
• Independently prioritize and resolve customer requests, work as subject matter expert for MM, LE, production break-fixes, ad-hoc reports and enhancement requests
• Develop professional, productive relationships within business units, IT team, and support.
• Utilize query and reporting tools to provide flexible and timely delivery of support to end users, act as SME to business users for solution proposal and training.
• May be required to work off-hours or weekends to support business in case of business critical failures
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Multiple full life cycle implementations experience in SAP MM with expertise in submodules IM, WM, and Procurement in manufacturing industries.
• Experience in supporting master data including material, vendor, customer, batch master, source list, info records, and pricing.
• Hands on experience in supporting stock transfers, third part orders, and vendor returns
• Extensive knowledge in logistics invoice verification (LIV).
• Experienced in managing special stocks and stock categories in IM and WM managed storage locations.
• Knowledge of EDI/IDOCS functionality for cross company order within/across SAP environments is a plus
• Strong customer service skills, team player, collaborative and flexible.
• Minimum 2 years of support experience in SAP MM.
• Bachelor?s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

THE INDIVIDUAL

This person will be a proactive technical leader and analyst who can take ownership of the Supply Chain piece of the SAP implementation. He/she will provide process leadership and bring business knowledge and continuity to the project. Candidates must be strong leaders who can function between the application development group and the business leaders. Ideal candidates have the following experience:

• This person has proven leadership experience in effectively managing large complex SAP based business project implementations. Must have experience in the implementation of the application into production.
• Minimum of 5+ years of SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) and APO (Advanced Planner and Optimizer) experience with SAP version ECC 5.0 or later.
• Experience of at least one full life cycle implementation of each SCM and APO and experience in dynamic support environment.
• Thorough understanding of integration amongst core SAP modules.
• Configuration and system design experience in all SCM modules with PP, MM and WM areas and APO including demand and supply planning, fulfillment and procurement.
• In depth knowledge of Supply Chain strategy, sales and operations planning processes, supply chain planning processes (Demand and Supply Planning including Master Production Scheduling and Distribution Planning), supply chain performance management, Inventory Management, Transportation processes and management systems, warehousing processes and management systems.
• Basic understand of ABAP programming.
• Experience in variant configuration environment and process industry is preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• SAP or APICS Certification a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems.
• Legally eligible for employment in the United States.
