Scrum Master – (180001P1)

As a Scrum Master for the RoomIt engineering team, you will be the driving force behind the planning and execution of software engineering efforts for the Hotels division within CWT. The Scrum Master position must have a background in agile practices, be able to coordinate activities between groups, keep engineering teams on task and have a desire to work with diverse decision makers.

  • Lead agile ceremonies for the engineering team, including sprint planning, demos and retrospectives
  • Guide engineering teams to higher levels of maturity and create a culture of continuous improvement
  • Guide, educate and assist the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Introduce Agile/Scrum concepts to partner groups within the organization
  • Strive to improve the effectiveness and execution for the team by removing barriers and increasing efficiency
  • Coordinate activities amongst technology operations, third party vendors and partner engineering teams
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Support and educate product owners, Hotel operations, other engineering teams in their collaboration with the Hotel engineering team
  • Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example

Qualifications

Required
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent role for a software development team within an Agile environment for at least one year
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  • Familiarity with Agile tools, especially Jira (writing stories, managing workflows, admin level functions)
  • Experience writing user stories, managing product owner input and estimating time and complexity of engineering efforts
  • Applicable knowledge of the technology stack used by the team
Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus)
  • Scrum Master certifications (any)
  • Previous experience as a team lead
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
