Satellite Systems Engr

This is a crew shift position as a Communications Operator (CO). CO’s are responsible for monitoring and conducting spacecraft mission tasks during program execution. CO’s utilize system software to accomplish all spacecraft tasks and recommend improvements, and analyze software and spacecraft performance with respect to mission performance. The selected candidate is required to complete a specialized training and certification program. Applicants must possess a strong operations oriented technical background and have current or past experience and technical skills in one or more ground system operations areas. Strong oral and written communications skills, along with the ability to work within operational working groups, are a must. Position requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques. Candidate must possess an ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Candidate must be able to perform under general supervision and follow established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy. Candidate conducts frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters. Location: Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications

• Current or former TS/SCI clearance

• Demonstrated experience in operation of command and control (C2) ground systems related to satellite operations.

• Candidate must have strong oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to work within operational working groups.

Desired skills

• Previous experience on Mojave or related programs
