This role provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. This individual will configure system settings and options, plan and execute unit, integration and user acceptance testing, and create functional specifications in the event that system customization is required to meet business requirements. Design, configuration, and functional experience in SAP is required.rnRequirements: rn5-7 years of SAP EDI experience in SAP ECC.

Areas of competence are: rnrnFirm understanding of EDI file formats and SAP IDOCs.rnExperience working with trading partners and EDI service providersrnDeep understanding of SAP EDI methodologies and associated mapping and configurationrnEDI production support and project implementation experiencernKnowledge of SAP best practices in the electronic data interchange spacernAbility to interact with all levels within the organization and work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervisionrnThe ability to develop, execute, and document the results of (executed) test plansrnAdditional competencies: rnThe person in this role must be able to translate customer and internal specifications for enhancements and extensions to electronic data interchange application interfaces and maps. Additionally the ability to understand and translate user’s requests, design workable solutions to these business issues, and configure them is crucial to this role.rnThe ability to resolve complex business issues as part of a multidisciplinary team by working with various groups both internal and external to the company.rnThe willingness to help the business redesign procedures and processes to better align with best practices and standard SAP.rnParticipation in the creation and enforcement of IT software standards and procedures.rnMaintenance of the accuracy of the help desk ticketing database including the addition of artifacts required to support our robust audit requirements.rnUnderstanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)rnThe person that would succeed in this position would typically have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, business, or a related area and/or 3-7 years of SAP focused experience in industry, or consulting. Additionally this person should be able to quickly come up to speed on the current configuration and customizations (development) in the Smith Wesson SAP system, develop and evaluate alternative solutions to business issues, and recommend the best solution based on technical and business impacts.rnThis role acts as a consultative liaison with the business to define business requirements and solution them appropriately. The person in this role must be able to lead and execute small to medium size break/fix and improvement projects with minimal supervision.

Additionally this person will participate in the identification of process improvement opportunities, provide input and recommendations, and conduct solution implementation.rnExcellent communication skills are a must for this role, as well as the ability to proactively identify risks and propose mitigation plans for same.rnTravel to other Smith Wesson facilities, conferences, seminars, training, etc. may be required. During integration projects, this travel may be as high as 50% to 75%, depending on the phase of the project.rnSmith Wesson may be subject to certain export licensing requirements imposed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”).
