Sales Development Representative

We are seeking the founding members of the Sales Development program at Slack. This is a highly visible, collaborative position working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams. Key responsibilities include driving new business by qualifying leads and helping drive various outbound campaigns.

Sales Development is the start of an incredible career in Sales. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overachieving in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify leads through initial phone and email contact
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and rapid response cadence in following up on all inbound inquiries and marketing leads
  • Create a positive first impression with our prospects and customers by providing them with a world class experience
  • Develop strong product knowledge – you will learn the Slack playbook & selling practices
  • Keep meticulous records of interactions with leads in our CRM (Salesforce.com)
  • Help to build scalable demand generation campaigns based on data
  • Identify and actively address inefficiencies: we need to leverage our tools for prospecting at speed

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, customer support/success, or another field involving heavy customer contact
  • You are competitive and driven to achieve goals
  • You are articulate and poised with a clear and concise spoken and written communication style
  • You have a consistent track record of overachieving in past experiences
  • You have a demonstrated familiarity with SaaS products and the enterprise communications industry
  • You are flexible, adaptive, and resilient
  • You are empathic and understand customer needs
  • You have a great attitude and love for teamwork
  • Bachelor’s degree required
