A Day in the Life

The Lung Health Sales & Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for creating, organizing and implementing training for sales representatives. The incumbent is expected to work closely with all commercial leaders in Lung Health including Sales, Marketing, Clinical Education/Medical Affairs and HR functions. This position will continually evaluate and measure the effectiveness of all training, collaborate with cross-functional partners towards achieving business goals, and recommend improvements in all training programs based on measurable metrics and evaluations.

SHAPE
Plan, execute, and evaluate all phases of sales training classes including New Hire Training, Clinical & Product Training, Patient Conditions/Procedural Focus, Competitive Product Differentiation, Sales Methodology, economic selling, product launch support and field sales training.
Work closely with the ILS Leadership team to help build, provide input and execute on critical, business strategies.
Continually evaluate and improve all facets of the sales training process through coordination with Lung Health Sales Training Manager, Sales Leadership and Clinical Education team.
Implement training programs that build commercial capability.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to ensure training programs are in alignment with strategic imperatives.
Work with marketing to integrate strategic focus and messaging to our customer segments through targeted training of field sales representatives

ENGAGE
Facilitate Sales Training programs to the US based sales force to impact sales effectiveness. Trainings may include New Hire sales training, existing seller training, as well as new product launch trainings.
Engages in sales and product related communications to the sales force via modalities such as Email, Salesforce.com Chatter, and Allego.
Management of the Field Sales Trainer mentorship program for ILS sales force to provide effective training experience for new hire sales representatives.
Exhibit strong understanding of adult learning principles and incorporate into any training content.
Coordinate FST program with SI Commercial Learning Team.
Attend sales meetings and area meetings in support of corporate initiatives.
Effectively model and coach in delivery of training content.
Partner with Education/ Medical Affairs with the development and deployment of clinical educational training materials for field sellers.

Support the launch of collateral and programs for existing portfolio as well as new product launches, services, organic and inorganic growth opportunities, to meet strategic goals, including new sales channels.

Support the overall mission of Commercial Learning and Development to provide the Medtronic sales and marketing organizations with timely and focused learning experiences.
Pursue highest standards of support and service to exceed customer expectations.

Ability to travel as needed. Estimated travel is 60%.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required.
7+ Medical Sales experience with a track record of success.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence.
Candidate must be comfortable delivering training content in both small and large group settings.
Facilitation experience delivering content to adult learners.
Project development and program execution experience.
Experience building learning curriculums and content.
Goal-oriented individual who operates on a high sense-of-urgency and work independently to complete tasks.
Proven track record working collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
Ability to work within a matrix setting.
Problem solver and ability to see around the corner.
Experience in successfully managing travel and expense budget.
Experience and comfort with change is desirable.
A team player who builds and maintains excellent relationships at multiple levels in the workplace.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and verbally. Mobility within the work facility. Ability to travel independently. Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time.
