Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary

Assist the Retail Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of a retail store

Essential Functions of the Job

• Handles routine customer service inquiries, complaints and questions; refer problems to Retail Store management

• Trains all personnel assigned to the retail store

*

• Handles cash and daily receipts according to Agency policies

*

• Completes retail store records and Agency documents as assigned by the Retail Store management

*

• Assists in receiving shipments from the main processing plant; checks merchandise against invoices and reports discrepancies and problems to the Retail Store management

*

• Acts for the Retail Store Manager/Assistant Manager in their absence

*

• Enforces agency policies and procedures

*

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Minimum Education High School Diploma (or substitute experience) required: GED or equivalent coursework

*

• Minimum Experience required: Prior sales or customer service experience

*

• Basic Requirements:
• Ability to provide own transportation to work

*

• Skills and Abilities:
• Recordkeeping skills
• Ability to provide work leadership to others

Physical Factors

• Requires occasional bending, twisting, reaching, pulling ,sitting, walking, and standing

• Lifting up to 50 pounds

• Inside work, normally 5 days a week, with some evening and weekend work
